Body Traces

Inspired by the anxious narratives of science-fiction horror, I use robotic or alien assimilation to explore feminine culture, and my own attempts to learn to successfully perform femininity. I play on e-commerce, fashion and beauty photography, as tools of feminine construct marketing and commodification. I also explore the role of self-gaze and portraiture in crafting performance. The photography studio becomes a futuristic or laboratory space of experimentation. This space then extends to the domestic where these rituals are implemented as part of daily life.
